J.T. Coppinger
James Thomas Coppinger, known to friends as J.T., is a living, breathing contradiction. He is a dyslexic with a calling to write, a wine specialist who doesn't drink, a parenting counselor with no kids of his own, and a tattooed, ex-offensive lineman with an eating disorder who prefers soccer. J.T. is a challenging read, a lover of humanity, and an empathy addict who has lived a life marked by reinvention and perseverance.
After graduating from the University of Colorado, J.T. took over the family wine shop and began learning about the world through viticulture and enology. Utilizing his journalism and creative writing degrees, he also began freelancing for local alternative magazines. J.T. covered the pulse of underground culture, chronicling raves and benders and occasionally writing wine-pairing features for holiday celebrations. By his mid-thirties, J.T. had experienced both divorce and homelessness, making the party life feel more like an ass-kicking. At age 34, J.T. made the brave choice to check into rehab.
Today, J.T. proudly lives a sober lifestyle and works as a counselor at a residential treatment facility for adolescents struggling with early childhood trauma and substance abuse, much like his heroes Dr. Brené Brown and Bessel van der Kolk once did. J.T. is finishing his master's degree in social work while honing the compassion and empathy that define his approach to counseling and writing.
J.T. is a feminist, a hug aficionado, and a vulnerability sensi. He is also the co-host and creator of the Let's Dig into That podcast. J.T. 's first full-length book is the memoir he co-authored with his rockstar of a wife. Together, they live in the woods of Colorado and attempt to positively impact the most significant number of people without ever having to talk to them.
Jordan D. Smith
Jordan D. Smith was born with a pube—just one. Although it fell out shortly after the legend circulated, the feral pube seems a fitting herald for Jordan’s life.
Jordan is a self-diagnosed, securely attached, premature over-achiever, a practitioner of reckless vulnerability, and a believer in signs. A serial entrepreneur, Jordan started her first business at fifteen, One Shoe Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and operated a thriving not-for-profit for education in South Africa through college.
After graduating from the University of Missouri–Columbia with high honors and zero debt, Jordan moved to Colorado to work in wine. Five minutes later, she locked it down with the wrong man and began a decade-long self-sabotage, reinforced by extensive career success.
As co-host and creator of the Let’s Dig into That podcast, Jordan engages audiences with her unflinching honesty and empathetic wit. Childfree by choice and impulsively wed to the dyslexic of her dreams, Jordan embraces the taboo in an empowering call for self-love. She has written her first full-length book as a testament to using shame as a superpower.
Jordan is a non-drinking, registered voter living in western Colorado with two big dogs (and a cat who prefers her privacy).
